Jelly's Dad's custom stand

Postby Chyendra on Wed Jun 30, 2010 1:37 pm

Shout out to Kevin for the custom stand for my 45 gallon cube. He was great to work with and he made the base part quicker then I expected, which was great! I'll post pics after the cover is made, and put on the stand. If you're thinking about a custom stand, he has a really great design and is pretty reasonable for such quality work.

Thanks!!!

I just wanted to include some pics of the stand cover now that it's finished and in place. All I can say is WOW what a beautiful piece of furniture. Kevin really went out of his way to make us a beautiful stand for my display tank. I think all of the trim is home-made and the wood is a beautiful mahogany that he got for a great price. The base is very solid and the bottom of the base is sealed so it could hold quite a bit of water if the tank or sump ever begins to leak. The cover slides on snugly and you would never guess that they were two pieces, but I know when I'm moving equipment around, I'll be glad that it's two pieces. You all will also get a sneak-peek of my new 45 gallon cube :) These are pre-staining pictures. I'll post a few of the finished piece after we stain it.

Wow, nice craftsmanship. If only I had a display tank worthy.

Definitely get an estimate, Kevin is a great guy to work with, he can make your stand as fancy or simple as you want. His prices are very affordable for such quality work.

As promised... pictures of the stand now that it's finished!!

Here's what the base looks like. The cover comes off in case I need to move any of the equipment in from the sides.
