I need a t5 light fixed!

Postby starboard on Thu Mar 08, 2012 11:45 am

Does anyone know where or does anyone know how to fix t5 light fixtures? I have a coralvue t5 6 lamp fixture that has 1 set that isn't working . Please help in anyway. I'm not too good at diagnosing electrical issues.
Thanx

First, make sure you don't simply have a bad lamp on that circuit -- take 2 of the lamps that work and put them in the 'dead' sockets. If you still have a dead pair of sockets, then it is likely a bad ballast. You could check and see if the manufacturer has replacement ballasts available. If not, then search the web until you find a ballast that fits (physically, in the space the present ballast sits) and runs the number of lamps you need it to. Installing a ballast is just disassembling the fixture and doing some very basic connecting of wires inside. I'm sure there are YouTube videos that run through the procedure if you have cold feet.

Must be a bad ballast then because I tried the bulb switcharoo. Hmm.. time to search for new ballast then.
