Pressure rated pumps

Postby causeofhim on Mon Mar 14, 2005 8:23 pm

How can I tell what pumps are pressure rated and which are not? I would like to get one that is comparable to Iwaki 20 or 30 RLT without paying Iwaki prices (yes I'm frugal).

You could try these:

They are about $50 cheaper. But for a real deal just keep an eye out on RC in the for sale forum.

Check out the 'Blueline' pumps. Basically an iwaki and much cheaper, yet suppost to be very good pumps, and quiet. I'd research these and see what you find out.

The BL20HD is 420gph and $109 (Iwaki 20 equivelant)
The BL30HD is 540gph and $135 (Iwaki 30 equivelant)

These prices are from http://www.myreefcreations.com , that's the first place I looked but you may find them cheaper elsewhere. I'm thinking of getting one of the blueline pumps for my skimmer.

Blueline is also marketed as Panworld. You can find Panworld at http://www.premiumaquatics.com or http://www.marinedepot.com. http://www.championlighting.com I believe is the distributor of these pumps.
