Name this coral

Postby causeofhim on Wed Mar 16, 2005 9:33 pm

OK memory loss. Can someone tell me what the actual name of this coral is? I picked this beautiful piece up from Meisen, just can't remember what he said it was called.

Thanks,

looks a lot like Clavilaria [spelling?] to me, clove polyps.

Nice ones, too!

Wow, those look great. I have some cloves also, but more greenish and not extended as much. Mine grow fast with babies from the center braces.

Matt, I snooped in your gallery (the photo you were trying to ID changed in your original post BTW) the rock anenome looks like the mystery thing I have. Is it good or bad? Mine seems to be growing fast. Denise

Denise,
No Rock or Flower Anemones aren't bad. Some actually have amazing colors although this one is mostly brown. According to Meissen they are very hardy and mine is about 7" across. I feed him pieces of shrimp and zooplankton and he seems to love it. I like to watch him eat.

Thanks for telling me about the mixed up link. Posted some new pics last night and it must have moved the other pics around and messed it up.
