what should I bring to the meeting on Saturday?

Postby tapper of spines on Mon Mar 28, 2005 10:33 am

Thanks to Denise for hosting on Saturday. What should I bring? I never been to a meeting before, so I'm not sure what is standard.

Is it ok if I bring the little one?

You really don't need to bring anything for the party. I would suggest a cooler for any trades or freebies you may get, also any frags you may want to trade. don't forget i have your refractometer.

I have a little spring fever and have been listening to calypso music while doing some gardening so that may carry over to the party (it has been a long winter). So think margaritas and red stripe. I am going to have plenty of food as well as chicken for the grill, if you would prefer something else by all means bring it. As for the wee one, ours aren't going to be here (more fun for us) but you are welcome to bring her.

I would kind of like a head count (spouses welcome) so I know how much chicken to marinate. I'll start a new head count thread. Have a good day and get outside!!

What to bring

Postby Toddah on Mon Mar 28, 2005 12:05 pm

I will let SPbreeder give her own answer, But some suggestions would be.

Generally just yourself and anything you have to trade or give away. If you have some special need like koolaid made with natural spring water enhance with the essence of coconut oil then bring that for yourself.

Standard items:
Baggies for frags
Cooler for Frags
Frags
Rock Rubble (trade back to frag donors to resupply them)
Camera
Do you ever wonder why the only thing common in all your dysfunctional relationships with others is you?

Hmmm. Sounds like this party's gonna need a little Berghoff dark. I'll bring a 6. 8)

Since we've already got a thread going about Saturday, I guess we can post our trading desires/requests/options right here:

I have available: IPSF (http://www.ipsf.com) pods, worms and "strombus grazers."
I would like: some chaeto, other macros.

I plan on making it there saturday, am looking for some:
GreenStarBurst Polyps frags

I got one in early last week but it just didn't turn out and has yet to open, kinda thinking it didn't make shipping from my buddy in MI. So looking for one heard it is good starter coral, since be my first coral, thanx.

Postby Toddah on Mon Mar 28, 2005 2:22 pm

I got you covered on the Chato, I will have some packets to hand around
Do you have SPS corals in your tank? (Redbug fear showing again)
I am always on the lookout to trade some sand and associated critters.

I have a few SPS in the tank. I got them all from MiddletonMark, post-red-bug treatment. I've yet to see a red bug, for whatever that is worth. I can bring some sand; good idea.

Greem Striped Mushrooms

Postby Toddah on Tue Mar 29, 2005 3:21 pm

I do I do,
Never tried removing them from a big rock but I have quite a few and I would peel a few off if you want to try and transplant them yourself.

This will be my fist meeting as well. Given that my tank is so new, I don't really have too much to bring in the way of frags. I'll be able to bring some small pieces of an unidentified caulerpa...perhaps mexicana or sertularoides.
