spawning damsels

Postby stevenliu on Wed May 11, 2005 8:29 am

hi everyone. I have a pair of damsels whose been spawning in my tank every other week for the last few months. the femail will lay them at the underside of a crevis and guard them until they hatch. However, due to the predatory condition in my tank (other damsels, chromis, gobies, shrimp, and anemonies), I have yet to see a hatchling or a fry. Does anyone have success in hatching damsels and raise them? and if so, any suggestions ?

I would think that following the same procedures as for clown fish would give you the best luck (clownfish are damsels). This can be a rather involved process, but there is certainly plenty of information both in book form and online (ReefCentral has a forum for spawning, should have lots of info).
