IMAC 2005

Hi;

Have you signed up for IMAC yet? The registration fee for the International Marine Aquarium Conference is still only $125 but it goes to $150 at the end of December. And that’s for the complete package, including all speaker presentations, the Trade Show, the “Meet-the-Speakers” Reception, the Banquet and the Big Raffle.

So far the speakers lined up include Martin Moe, Julian Sprung, Henry C. Schultz, Eric Borneman, Dr, Ron Shimek, Dr. Frank Marini, Anthony Calfo, Dr. Tom Sandercock, Rocky Herrman, Stephen Pro, Michael Janes, Jay Hemdal, and Barry Neigut, with more to come.

If you went to IMAC in 2003 or 2004 you remember what a blast it was. IMAC is put on by the same people every year so you know you can expect another great show. It will be on June 24, 25 and 26th, in Chicago, again at the Crowne Plaza O’Hare, where we again got a room rate of just $93/nite, with a free shuttle to/from the airport.

If you have an aquarium-related business you should act quickly to reserve a booth. This last year we sold out all the booths early and we will probably do that again. If you cannot attend, you might want to look into taking out an ad in the IMAC Program Book so that your company will at least have a presence at this important event.

Since IMAC is happening almost in your own backyard this is a great opportunity you should not pass up. As a Special for Midwest Club members, the $125 registration rate will stay in effect through the first 2 weeks in January so hurry over to http://www.theimac.org and sign up.

Happy New Year,
Dennis

Is (was) a frag trade part of the weekend?

Guess it would be hard for out of towners to keep stuff alive for the trip but what about us being only 2 1/2 hr away?

Hi Meisen;

Yes FragExchange will be doing fragging at their booth all during the weekend and either giving the frags away or selling them very cheaply. Several of the exhibitors will also be selling corals, and they will hold them for you until Sunday.

And since we didn't get the word out in time, the $125 registration rate will be in effect for the whole month of January.

I hope to see you there.

Cheers,
Dennis
