Woo hoo got a great deal on a 90 reef ready, stand, and 40 breeder sump. Also has a light hanger that I hadn't attached when the pic was taken.

Any donations much appreciated!

Also any advise! I'm pretty new to sump/refugiums. a skimner won't fit. I wouldn't be able to get the lid off........

Well moving along nicely! Used 1 five gal bucket of sand. Have a Coralife 6 bulb T5 light, about 60lbs of dry rock. Have to figure out a scape. Also purchased 200 gal of salt. Do I need the brackets for the light or can it just sit on top like that?

Slowly. Need to get an RO do unit. Leaning toward Spectrapure, but not completely sure what I need.

Be careful with what you buy. Many times you will need a booster pump to get optimal performance and resin life. Also, don't throw away your old resin! Save it and recharge it!

Ended up getting a barraccuda 100gpd rodi unit.

Slowly starting to fill with water, this is how far I've gotten in a couple days. Super dirty though........ <br /><br />

Well water is in. This is a pic running. Also of just the sump while running. And the last pic is my mock "power outage"

If/should??? I take more water out of the sump so it uses the first baffel a little better? Will the water go down in the display? I really can't have it go down any in the display backseat it's only tight to the bottom of the trim.

You can just let it evaporate until it reaches a lower level if you want - that is if your salt level doesn't go too high.

If the water level goes down in the sump it should not impact the water level in the main display. The overflow will keep it at a constant level.

Does this look ok for sump level or should I let it go lower?

Also how do I keep my filter sock from floating? I had the shrimp in the sock bit now it's just in the bottom of the sump is that ok? Or should it be in the display?

Water level looks fine - just have to keep up high enough so the pump in the last compartment doesn't suck in air and create bubbles in the main display.
Doesn't look like there is much in there for the shrimp to scavenge for food - I would hand catch him and put him back in the main display tank.
