Help! I need to frag some huge frogspawn!

Postby ClownBaby on Sun Jul 17, 2016 5:58 pm

Hey,

I want to slowly work on selling off my giant frogspawn colonies. I have two right now, each with 30+ heads. They are the size of two footballs. I have been growing them for about three years, they started from a single frag! Anyways, I was wondering if anyone has a band saw that I could come and use, possibly in exchange for a few pieces of coral. This would be my first fragging experience so any tips would be greatly appreciated! I want to get about $15 for each head, is this reasonable? These colonies are so beautiful and they add great movement to my tank, it will be a shame to see them go, but change will bring new arrivals. Does anyone know if Living Art has a saw?

Thanks,
CB

The Asternia in my tank don't bother any of my corals and I have plenty of coraline. In addition I don't want another species in my tank that requires special feeding, such as a Harlequin. Also I like the tiny starfish. If they gave me any issues I would make an effort to remove them. Anyways, this thread is about the frogspawn fragging

Hey MadCityReefer, thanks for the reply. Wont those cutters just crush the skeleton? I'm looking for the best cut possible so I can glue every head to an individual plug. I guess I should just give it a shot and see what happens [-o<

Update: went away for two days, AC in apartment broke, tank temp rose to 94 F. Frogspawn disintegrated, blenny died. Amazingly everything else has survived.
