Onkyo TX-SR702 THX certified reciever for sale.

Postby Bubbareefer on Tue Sep 05, 2006 9:27 pm

Well those that know me, know that I am a home thearter junkie. I have for sale an Onkyo TX-SR702 which is a 7.1 channel 110w x 7 reciever. When I bought it 6 months ago I paid over $900 for it. I am selling it for $400 if anyone wants it send me a PM or post. I have some cables to go with it and all of the orginal stuff to (remote, manual, mic., ect..) I broke down and bought the new TX-Sr874 onkyo today, and that is the only reason I am selling it. It works prefect and has better sound quality than most $2000 recievers.

Have you considered going the pre-amp/amp route for your home theater?

It is not worth it for an apartment. If I had a house yes I would go that way.

I plan on going that route once i get a projector installed(hopefully early next year) I am geting sick of staring at my 27" tv. I havent even set up my theater yet in my new condo, and i've been in for over a month now. good luck with the sale, onkyo is a very good brand and that is a great reciever.

The new one I have does an HDMI upconvert on anything. Basicly it makes the picture better as well as puts everything out to my tv through one hdmi cable, as well as offers hdmi audio at a 196kb rate. so if you have a Blu-Ray dvd or HD dvd player the new reciever is worth it. If not than the composit (3 cord red, blue, green) upconvert that the onkyo I had is fine. That is the only difference. Also there is 5 watts more per channel on my new one for the speakers, and I got a free I pod mini out of the deal too. Sadly enough their are no flames on it to make it go faster gren.

If your not ready for the pre-amp/amp setup. have you looked at onkyo's integra brand? they are very nice, and resonably priced.

Check out Outlawaudio A friend of mine just got some of their stuff and WOW it sounds great. Then again he is running it into some B&W 802's.
