Somone a Metal Worker here?

Postby julisakitten on Wed Aug 01, 2007 7:36 am

Greetings!
I think someone somewhere in here was saying something about making hoods/reflectors/boxes etc. If you do metal work, have you ever made a cookie cutter? I am looking for diamond shaped cookie cutters and I'm having a rough go at it. Would that be a possibility? Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks!

Tim is the metal guy but I did a Google search for "diamond cookie cutter" and found a bunch...some for $.79. Shipping is probably $8 though!

Happy baking!

Thanks for the tip, I kind of want a nested set, and specific sizes for a vegan wedding cake that I'm practicing for right now, and I didn't see anything on line that would suit my purposes for making an argyle cake. But I'll keep searching!
TIM - any interest in trying your hand at cookie cutters?
Thanks again!

Try useing copper around a wooden mold, or go to the Vinilla Bean on Odana road. They sould be able to get some for you.

Greetings!
I was at Vanilla Bean last night, I got a diamond cutter, and a larger square that I proceeded to bend when I got home. The diamond one wasn't symmetrical!! I have to return it. But, the square one I bent turned out beautifully. Thanks for the tip! Too bad they aren't open past 6.
Thanks again!
