beer lovers?

Postby Mark on Wed Aug 10, 2005 7:55 am

Am I going to see anyone else at the Great Taste of the Midwest Beer tasting on Saturday?

Around my house, the tanks are my hobby, brewing beer is hers.

I know Toddah knows a thing or two about brewing, do we have any others here?

I'll have one for you, and for the rest of the club too

Hopefully beautiful weather like always, the weather gods here must like beer as I've been to 4 or 5 and every one was a near perfect day.

But I'll also keep that in mind when it's time to host in December.

I will be going.
I have brewed in the past but found it is much easier to pay someone else to do it and just sit back and enjoy. Been to last 10, almost did not get tickets this year. Nothing like 5 hours of hard drinking.

I'll see you there ... been to a meeting yet?
[suppose I wouldn't recognize ya ...]

True, but some beers you just can't find in a store. Last year's Rasperry I've never tasted the like of - and I do say tasting lots of homebrew has taught me a lot about the different malts, hops, and processes to make the beers I like.

We've been trying to go, but tickets sell out quickly. Hubby used to brew-still has all equipment in basement, but no time lately.

Anyone needs some hops? Ours have been growing wild since we moved in- not tended like they should be. Let me know.

Tickets have been a joke the last two years. Terrible.

This year my wife said where she went [wine + hop] that if you got in line when the tickets went on sale, you were too late. They were near the end and got in line half an hour before tickets started on sale.

I heard there was a mailorder, mostly for out-of-state but a friend entered [Deforest] and got tickets ... something to consider next year.

I dunno, it's sad to see tickets shut out a lot of locals who would love to come.
