I am looking for help. I want to transfer my old i tunes music to my new window 7 computer. Problem is my old computer is severely damaged. The screen is shattered, the system will not turn on. So I picked up an External 2.5 Sata Hard Drive Enclosure for the old hard drive. I connected the hard drive to my new computer hoping to get my songs off it. I am lost and don't know where to start. I tried to look on line on how to do it but all the instructions are for old computer that work. My old hard drive works but cant find the files on the hard drive to transfer them. i am very frustrated with Itunes software. I am starting to wonder why people even like Ipod or Itunes.
I am extremely frustrated because it has taken me a long time to collect all my music and now I have nothing. I don't own an Ipod yet, but I been saving up to purchase one.

Re: Transfering Itunes music from old computer hard drive
Joe,
itunes saves data in the "my documents" area of the windows operating system.
The easiest way to get the data off would be to boot the old drive and transfer it to an external hard drive. If you need help with this let me know. There are other ways but this is the easiest.
