Living Art is my fave place to get inverts!!!

Postby mytulip9 on Tue Jun 24, 2008 11:49 pm

I got this pom-pom crab in January. He's still alive and doing well, just molted yesterday infact! By far my favorite. I feed him little bits of mysis.

And usually I wait until I've kept something alive for a month before I post pics but I'm really excited about this one. Just got him yesterday. A spider decorator crab!

I wonder what he'll look like after he molts. I suppose he'll probably try to take most of his decorations off the exoskeleton and put them on his new body (just like how the pom-pom crab picks up his anemones again after he molts).

Thanks to the guys over at Living Art for always carrying really interesting and unique livestock! =D>

(I'm just waiting for a porcelain anemone crab to come in now and my collection is complete! Ha! Like that'll ever actually happen.)

Great pictures!
It's always nice to get positive feedback. Glad to hear that you are enjoying your inverts.
We have or can get porcelain crabs regularly. I'll P.M. you when I find some.
Thanks for the post!

Great! No rush, but totally let me know if you get some in. I'd love to put one in my invert only nano tank. I know I have seen that particular crab in your tanks in the past but didn't purchase it because I hadn't done enough research on it yet at that point. The porcelain crab is the last one on my (currrent) wish list for the nano. ~Andrea

That decorator is COOL! Do let us know what he does when he molts, it'll be interesting to see if he recycles decorations or picks out new ones :D

He hasn't molted yet but I wanted to give this little update...

Hehe!!! He shredded it and put it all over himself! :D I probably only have 20% left of what I started with but it's really okay with me because I had too much in the first place and it was taking up the entire back wall of the aquarium. And besides, it's still living fine while attached to him!

I hope he does molt soon though because right now he's missing one leg and the claw from his right side and he has a little difficulty taking food frrom me right now. Another crab ripped them off before I caught it and got him out of the tank.
