So I am looking for a new toy...
So I sold my sleds and trialer this weekend, with the idea of buying a boat that would be a little more usable for the family. Any ideas on a good place to buy a used boat?

There was a 19' posted at American Family's board, I'll get the info tomorrow if it's still there.
Not 100% sure...I think it was a 2004 or 2002 and it was like $8,900 with ski accesories.
I'll look for sure tomorrow.

Have a 93 Bayliner in the garage. 120 force motor, I think 17 footer. Mint. Buying a pontoon boat this year, was gonna use as a trade in for it. If interested let me know. Its blue and white. Maybe 30 hours on it total. Never used it, work all the time. Garage stored.

Ahhhh, Boating. You know they say they are just a hole in the water you throw money into. Kinda sounds like our tanks, just that they are a hole filled with water that we through money into!
Start saving your pennies for the gas it will suck up this summer at $4 a gallon. Or you could just boat like most the people on the Madison lakes and beach it at Gilligan's. Always a party going on out there.
Sounds like a fun toy either way.

I know some of those boats with water ballast tanks for inland surfing can hold 75 - 90 gallons of fuel. I would hate to foot that bill for a hobby. My girlfriend's family has a normal mastercraft ski boat, and that thing still holds 40 gallons of fuel. Out on the lake for one day and you can eat that up.
As fun as boating is, you might want to get some new golf clubs. Even after memberships and tee fees, it will probably be cheaper.

Thats what I am thinking, and as far as the gas goes....these cant be any worse then the snowmobiles, a suv and a trialer up north and back for a weekend of fun. This just means I have to ride my bike more..

Yeah at least buy used and save yourself the shine factor we were talking about the othe day. My uncle bought a nice 26' day cruiser that retailed for 65K for 29K. Had less than 50 hours and just a few cosmetic things, stains etc from poor mooring and drunk guests prolly. I bet the guy who originally bought it knew nothing about boats, took it out a few times and realized it was long-term going to be much cheaper and easier to go out with his friends who had boats. Though he still took a 36K hit on a two-year old boat. Ouch.
So you can see why we are all cheering you on.......on the water MARS meetings this summer?

If you end up getting a 26' day cruiser, you better mod that thing with at LEAST a 150 gallon reef.
