wtb cheap 55g

Postby boonbee on Mon Jan 17, 2005 11:31 pm

My 55g sump is leaking so I need to replace it. I'll need to drill 2 holes but it doesn't have to be pretty. If anyone's interested in selling one or something similar, let me know. Thanks, Nancy

Bummer about the sump Nancy. Don't have anything to help you out with, but if you can't find anything cheap, http://www.aquaticworld.net has the best prices on tanks, they have a 55 Gal. All-Glass, black trim on sale right now for $75 I think and there in Oconomowoc.

Eeeek! I hope it wasn't the biscuit saw!

What are the dimensions you are looking for? I don't have a sump, but I do have an old 40G Breeder that isn't being used. I'm not sure that you want to drill glass though. Let me know what you think.

Thanks for the replies. Aquatic world does have several for 75.00. I'll keep my eye on the paper too. Good suggestions. The 40 g is a nice size but not large enough for my sump. I'll try to silicone this one and maybe I'll be able to help someone else out. Thanks :)

I have a new Amiracle MaxiReef 100 available-that might not be big enough either or a 45 (but that's probably too tall).

Otherwise- I live fairly close to Aquatic World- I'm about 25 miles away. If you need one- let me know- I'm coming into the meeting on the 30th if you can wait until then...

Hi everyone,
It turns out it's not leaking; I just had a good sized spill. Thanks for the offer Shel. Nancy

Know the feeling- had one FW tank that I was sure had a very bad leak- turns out our yellow lab was getting a drink from it on a daily basis. He'd just push the glass cover out of the way.

Typical lab- why drink the fresh water when you can have flavored water! Almost as good as a mud puddle!
