I thought it might be easier to organize some things on Facebook so I setup a Facebook page for the club. I'd like to keep the forum and general discussion on here, but FB can be a nice place to post events, post pictures, etc.

Re: New Facebook Page!
This a great Idea Bob, probably a lot easier to post club meetings and pictures of members tanks on the new MARS facebook page!

Re: New Facebook Page!
Someone asked the question about "liking" the page versus "friending" the page. I'm not a Facebook expert, but I'll share how I understand this to work. This is setup as a page in Facebook which is different than a "person" that you would friend. You can only "like" a page. Once it is liked, posts that Facebook determines are important enough will show up in your timeline. If you want more posts to show up, hover over the button near the top that says "Liked" and you will see some options to subscribe to notifications, have items show up in news feed, add to interests, etc.
If anyone has any questions with the Facebook page please post here. Thanks,
Bob

Re: New Facebook Page!
Also - when I get time to re-code this website (it's on my list of things to do), I will add some integration with Facebook to the website to help tie the two (this site and Facebook) together. I don't want to make two separate, competing system, but rather one system that has two mechanisms depending on the purposes.
