LiveAquaria

Postby MadCityReefer on Fri Jun 21, 2013 4:15 pm

So I have ordered from LiveAquaria 3 times now and outside of there quarantine process and guarantee, there corals never look near as colorful as you see them I Diver's Den. I once received a rock full of different zoanthids and clove polyps that absolutely looked amazing in there picture but once I got it in my tank it was ALL brown and plain looking. Not till I turned off all my white LED's and turned on the blue did it look similar to there picture. So beware, if think you your going to receive something that looks the colorful and as awesome as the pictured...ITS NOT!!! It took me 3 times to realize I was throwing my hard earned money down the drain!! NEVER AGAIN!!!

I'm curious if you tried them under any other sort of lighting (T5, halide) and if so what the result was. DD says that the softies are under T5 10k/actinic; I'd think that there is lots of room for improvement, color-wise, from there. It might help to figure out if there is something not right with those corals under LEDs (need time to acclimate, maybe, or the color spectrum of your lighting isn't the best, or something else).

They do not edit their pictures and do not take pics under crazy actinic. My guess is your spectrum is different.

Also another thought, have you contacted Liveaquaria? A simple phone call could clear everything up rather than bashing a very credible company on a forum.

I have a 8 bulb t5 fixture with ATI bulbs "the best in t5 bulbs" along with supplemental blue leds, I'm only stating what I see in front of me my friend! I not necessarily bashing liveaquaria in a whole. There customer service is awesome and the health of there animals is next to none. I know you used to work there but you know I'm not some noob rookie talking out his ass!!
