best option 48" led reef light setup

looking for an led light setup for a friends tank and wondering if anyone has experience and could recommend a certian brand. cost is important and under $500 would be best

Hey man. Long time no talk. Check out reef breeders either value fixture or the photon. Im running 2 values with 4 ati t5s with great results. Bring your friend over if he wants to check it out

What's the depth of the prospective tank? LEDs have limited depth penetration. With that budget, I would consider a DIY build from RapidLED. I've done 2 and have always been happy.

I have zero first hand experience but I've been looking at reef radiance. Seem to be competitive maybe a little better than reef breeders and cheaper

I just received the AI Director today, so I'll be setting it up tonight. The hydra is a little bit of an overkill, since I only have a 29g cube. My last tank was a mixture of MH and 24 royal blue Cree LEDs, and I consider that the perfect mixture. I'm looking forward to the Hydra though,
