Janesville SWAP/ donations for school tank project

Postby nasanek on Wed Mar 19, 2014 12:16 pm

Hi All,
I just posted an update for the school tank project (http://madisonreef.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=12690) in the community forum, but I wanted to put a thread here in hopes that more people would see it. I'm planning on going to the Janesville SWAP and if anyone has ANYTHING they'd consider donating to the school tank project, please contact me. I'd be happy to meet up with you at the SWAP and try to put whatever you don't want to good use. I am including a list of things I think we could use for the first tank that will get set up over the next few months. This list is by no means comprehensive and I would be happy to talk to you about anything you'd be interesting in donating to the project.

Here is a list of items we could still use:
1) tops for a 20L
2) a light (capable of sustaining soft corals on a 20L (30" wide))
3) a hang-on skimmer
4) a heater
5) powerheads

Thanks so much!!
Nick

Which school are you going to be setting it up at? I am hunting physics/comp-sci positions and it would be a bonus to find one at a school where I can help with a reef :)

We're accepting applications from interested teachers/principals right now and we'll need to look them over and decide the best fit. SO, the school is TBD at the moment, but we should have it all decided within the next 3-4 weeks.

Thanks for being a teacher! We need more teachers!
