anyone around me good at setting up and programing a Neptune apex controller. mine baffles me after hours of screwing with it. ive even read the online manual. put up 400 watt mh lights over the whole tank now. I needed the heat. trying to decide if im going to like the 14k aquaconnects or the 14 k xm bulbs that I have. or if I need to start shopping. the aquaconnects seem a bit more blue than I like but the xms look yellow. I will set up my vho actinics and see if that helps me make up my mind. if I ever get the rock stacked I will take some pics and post here.

I've gotten pretty good at programming various tasks and complex rules on the apex. What do you need help with?

more storage and reactors. eventually may add a surge tank up here and a auto frozen food feeder.

ok now for some shots from today to show the arrangement of the rock. the rock is close to how i want it but not quite correct yet. i need to move a few small rocks and do something different with the large vertical shelf rock. i was thinking to trying it at an angle to keep it from looking too orderly but i cant quite get it right.

i do like the tangle of branch rock on the right side. if you have any suggestions for placement feel free to post them.

also you can see the white calcium spots on the front glass that popped up when i had an ca snowstorm. the spots are where i had corraline algae. i think that leaving the corraline on for almost 3 years resulted in etching of the glass. i have tried to scrub it off but it barely changes with minutes of scrubbing. any suggestions would be appreciated.

no one has any thoughts on the scape. I really am looking for critics here. I know its a bit off but cant quite figure out what to do.

I'm horrible with aquascaping, myself. I think it looks like it could use some tweaking, but I'm not sure exactly what needs to change (such a help!). Are you using anything to hold the rocks together (epoxy, etc), or are you just stacking them on top of each other?

As for the calcium spots - is this a glass tank or an acrylic tank? If glass - have you tried a razor blade (make sure to clean the oils off the blade, and use a new blade if possible)? If acrylic - an edge of a credit card works well to scrape at things like that.

I love the left side, don't touch it! The shelves look really nice. I don't like the big shelf sitting on it's end on the right side/middle. I like the shelving in layers personally.

I will agree with that. The left side look pretty nice, and I do like the tangle of branches on the right as well - but the rest of the stuff on the right could use some tweaking...
